International Balloon Fiesta Photography Workshop EXCLUSIVE: Small Group Workshops The International Balloon Fiestas are a world reknowned attraction and destination for kids of all ages. The smell of roasting chiles, and the beautiful magical moving picture show of hot air balloons sailing silently through the dazzling new mexico blue skies and eloquent light has attracted photographers for more than three decades.
Students will learn to tell stories with images. This is not only an intensive hands-on workshop in photography, but an opportunity to complete a personal body of work for a portfolio and learn respectful techniques for photographing people in a visually stunning environment. This workshop will challenge students to let go of what is comfortable and easy,and move on to the next level. we will discuss creative vision, where it comes from and how to find it when it sems to disappear. This workshop is an exclusive, small group, customized photography workshop, designed to broaden your photographic skills and vision. While we will cover some digital photography techniques, this workshop is mostly about making images in the field and gaining a greater awareness of effective story telling through an international event in a cross cultural environment. This exciting workshop will provide a unique photography workshop experience, allowing each participant to receive one-on one feedback and critique, and learn to connect to people as photographic subjects in a different way. Participants will explore a wide variety of techniques that allow each picture to tell a story, learn to bring out the emotion and unique-ness of an event or place and its people through the use of the camera. Participants will also explore their own, individual place within an image as the creator and photographer. This intensive workshop is a dynamic and exciting blend of lectures, discussions, and outdoor assignments in which participants tackle the challenges of photographing in the field. We discuss ways to approach and photograph people and events, cross-cultural considerations, tips on equipment and digital concerns in different travel and outdoor environments. The emphasis is on expanding your creative vision in the realm of documentary and travel photography in a breath taking environment. Transportation Rental cars are also available in Albuquerque, and in Santa Fe. We do not provide transportation during the workshop. Please plan ahead and reserve a rental car. We will assist in organizing and fascilitating carpools and ridesharing. We are not responsible for reimbursement of non-refundable airline tickets in the event of a workshop cancellation.
